Our Projects

Irrigation Projects

Through a long-term lease agreement between Bohol Power and Electric Corporation (BPEC) and the owners and operators of various irrigation infrastructures in the Philippines, BlueCap Hydro Generators will be installed (mounted) in stop-locks of weirs in irrigation canals. The aim of these projects is to develop and operate a large number of micro hydropower plants at locations designated by our partners. More than 800 sites are selected for micro hydropower development. It is envisaged that we could develop 300 sites, with in total an installed capacity of 87 MW, which translates to a yearly CO2 reduction of 278,400 tons.

Our partners will not only benefit from the fee according to the weir lease agreement but also from the fact that, where needed, the stop-locks and weirs will be repaired and or renewed with glass fiber enforced stop-locks or gates from FiberCore Europe. This means not only a reduction in maintenance and repair costs, but also in substantial water savings. Agricultural Cooperatives and Irrigation Associations are the preferred users of the produced electricity.

On a turnkey basis, with long-term offtake agreements for the generated electricity, the plants will be sold to large clean tech and renewable energy investment funds.
